GUEST POST: Have you heard of the beautiful mindset transformation?

What about the mindset transformation?

Have you ever seen one of those posts on social media where they show a ‘before’ and ‘after’ photo?

Who am I kidding, of course you would have, they're all over social media.

Now before I get into this, I do want to state that I am highlighting this from a place of love.

I do not think there is anything wrong with doing those transformations, I applaud the person in the picture, for their transformation.

But I think there is a little more to it. Especially within the mind.

You see, if you don’t do that inner work with any form of transformation, there is a good chance that you will struggle with staying in that place, let alone develop any further.

I should also, for context, introduce myself. My name is Chloe, and I am a Mindset, Manifestation, Money and Strategy Coach.

I help people manifest many things from their ideal body, relationships or the big one, money! But, I like to do it in a practical way, after all, if we want to see a change in our physical reality we need to take physical action.

The most common transformation we see is weight loss.

But I wish that we went into the mindset behind that transformation.

About five months ago I shared my own self-love and body positivity journey in the form of an Instagram post.

In that post, I declared to the world that although I was still working on myself, I would no longer do it from a place of hate.

Since that photo, I have lost another stone and a half. But that is simply the RESULT of a mindset transformation.

So today, I want to share with you the practical and actionable changes that I made from within so that they can hopefully help you too.

So what changed?

Eating:

I decided to love my body AS I WOULD if I was at my ‘ideal weight’. I wouldn’t refrain from eating foods that I wanted, but I would also eat foods that would nourish my mind, body and soul.

I started to have fun with my meals. I loved how I could be creative with them. Taking away the pressure of ‘good’ food and ‘bad’ food took away the ‘chore’ of cooking.

ACTION: Ask yourself, if you already had your ideal body, how would you act? What foods would you eat to maintain that body? How would you treat your body?

Working Out:

I came from a place of gratitude. Our bodies allow us to do so much. It was pretty crazy how I focused on my weight more than the cool things my body allows me to do. I fell in love with paddle boarding, but it was not something I could do daily. So I turned to yoga for mindfulness, runs to manifest (I would visualize and express gratitude as I ran) and HIIT to improve my mood.

When I started seeing exercise as a tool to improve my life instead of a chore that I needed to do to shift the pounds, everything changed. Working out became a tool to nourish my mind.

ACTION: Ask yourself, how can exercise serve as a tool to improve your life. What could you get from it? A clear mind? A time to de-stress? A way to improve your mood and get your adrenaline pumping?

My Mindset:

One of the most significant realisations I made was that there was NO good reason as to why I should HATE my body. My ‘why’ was also an important thing that I focussed on. If I am completely honest with you, I felt sluggish in my work and knew, intuitively, that I had to make a change in my health.

ACTION: Discover your ‘why’, the reason you want to change your body. Ask yourself, why do I want to change?

Next Steps:

So what now? What are your next steps? Where do you go from here? The coach inside me has to give you some options, so here are three action points you can take to start your journey.

1. Attend Events Such as the Float Festival.

Start seeing wellness and health as something fun to be a part of. An excellent step to take would be to meet others on a similar journey. Go to events such as the Float Festival that Yolk and The Vibrancy Hub are hosting. Join like-minded people, learn, and most importantly, see how you can have FUN with it.

2. Sign up for inspo.

Follow accounts that promote a healthy mindset, like Yolk, Iskra, or my own account  @itschloeslade *ahem shameless promotion*.

3. Journal

Journal the action questions that I have littered throughout this post. They are questions that I personally wrote down. Remember this is a process. A process that you need to fall in love with and enjoy. So take your time, work at your own pace and know that change starts from within!
